Gloria Natale is known as the private goldsmith/designer to a very high profile, famous
clientele. She is generally commissioned to create one-of-a-kind pieces that will then become her clients' "I.D."
Her work is also found in some of the finest galleries across the country. Gloria has been a fine artist all her life,
she is also known for her watercolors and oil paintings.

A tribute to the goldsmiths of the CLASSICAL and PRE-CLASSICAL worlds is Gloria's intention.
It is from here that she draws her inspiration. Her materials are for the most part 22k gold with precious
and semi-precious gem stones. All of this work is completely hand-made. She alloys her own gold
from 24k bars, mills it into sheets, pulls it into threadlike wires, hand weaves it into intricate
chains or mesh. Very often she will do her own lapidary work to get the exact shape stone she wants or needs.

Examples of the same gold weaving Gloria does, dates back as far as c.3000 BC. Granulation,
tiny grains of gold used to form complex patterns, is also carried throughout her work.
Granulation is the process of joining metal (gold) before melting occurs. No solder is employed.
The finest granulation was considered to be produced in the Etruscan and Hellenistic periods.
This art almost completely died out in Europe in the Dark Ages. It did however, survive in the Middle East and the Far East.
 The work of these ancient artists can be viewed in The Metropolitan Museum in NYC or in the British Museum in London.
